CURRENT PROJECTS
V&A WATERFRONT:
Guerrini Marine Construction is currently involved with the V&A Waterfront- East Pier Precinct Revetment Upgrade and Associated Works. This project involves the east pier amour rock revetment upgrade, construction of the helipad platform and associated desalination discharge and intake works.
THE DREDGING OF HARBOUR BASINS IN ST HELENA BAY, LAAIPLEK AND LAMBERT'S BAY:
Guerrini Marine Construction is busy with Coega Development Corporation. Each of the three harbours along the West Coast there is a need for maintenance dredging works and subsequent disposal of the dredged material. The exact extent of the required dredging operations at each harbour varies.
A total of 66000 cubes of material to be dredged some of which is off shore disposal and some material to be disposed on shore along the beach.
This project has seen some complications with the harbour basins being very polluted with forgotten material. We have over come these obstacles by quickly changing methods of dredging throughout the project.
EMERGENCY REPAIRS OF BIKINI BEACH SEAWALL, GORDONS BAY:
Guerrini Marine Construction is busy with the City of Cape Town. The remedial/emergency repairs of the Bikini Beach seawall in Gardens Bay mainly comprise of underpinning the seawall where its foundations have eroded for much of the 21 m length from the beach access ramp to the west end. The repairs also include demolishing and replacing a 5.5m section of wall that has slumped, reinstatement of lost facing rocks and mortar, grouting up of structural cracks, and backfilling of sink holes behind the seawall.
